A Visit to the Gallery of Costume at Platt Hall, Manchester

Here are some photos from a recent visit to the Gallery of Costume at Platt Hall in Manchester. Enjoy!
This is a dress created entirely with pins (see the close up below).
Here are some great pieces from the 50's; I love the tailoring that was used - it is sad that proper construction is dying out.
Here are a couple of the great modern hats that they had as a special display.
And finally, we get into the great costumes that are on display at the gallery!
I love the little hearts embroidered on the bust of this 19th Century corset.
There is also a great button collection at the gallery as well!
